I spoke with my friend Brian Nolen and learned that he felt the same way and was, in fact, flying to Poland the following day to aid a refugee center in Przemysl. I told my wife of Brian’s plans and she said, “You should go.” So, I did.
followed over two trips was the most rewarding experience of my life. Through the generosity of our donors, Brian and I were able to bulk purchase much-needed staples and deliver them directly to those who needed them most.
Now, the need is even greater. Unable to achieve victory on the battlefield, Russian forces are destroying Ukraine’s infrastructure to try to break the will of the Ukrainian people by denying them heat, electricity and water. I think the Ukrainians are made of sterner stuff. Unfortunately, most of the suffering caused by that infrastructure damage will fall on the “women, children, the elderly and the infirm” who remain behind.
Our current mission is to do all we can to ease that suffering.
